Colorado Cellars Winery is Colorado's oldest, largest and most award-winning winery. Founded in 1978 as Colorado Mountain Vineyards, today's brands also include Rocky Mountain Vineyards and the Orchard Mesa Wine Company. Colorado Cellars was the first Colorado Winery to made varietal grape wines from Colorado grown grapes, fruit wines, honey wines (mead), port wines, champagnes and wine-based food items - as well as humorous style sweet red wines such as the infamous 'Roadkill Red' wine introduced in 1990. Colorado's oldest commercial vineyard, (planted in 1975), is situated directly in front of the Winery. Owners Richard and Padte Turley have a combined total of over 70+ years experience in the wine business and have held positions of management or ownership in all four tiers of the Industry.
