About Peterson

All grapes for the 2010 pinot noir are sourced from the Peterson Vineyard alongside River Road in the Santa Lucia Highlands. We are very pleased to be able to call this our namesake vineyard and to share with you our estate grown fruit. The vineyard is 8.8 acres planted to pinot noir clones 828, 667, 05, 115 and 777. The vineyard has a perfect South East exposure overlooking the Salinas River Valley and benefits from the unique SLH terroir. The Santa Lucia Highlands offer a cool, ocean influenced climate, with morning fog burning off to midday sun and cooling afternoon winds. The overall climactic combination results in an especially long growing season that allows the grapes to fully develop and attain maximum potential. Pinot Noir thrives in this environment.
